Characters:
I Found it quite funny that at the beginning of the story, i did not realise who the main character's name was and that if she's a girl or a boy. I really liked how the author started the story with the girl at a young age because the things that happen throughout the book makes me feel like i am growing up with her and learning new concepts and morals with her. The main characters are Scout and Jem, they are brother and sister and their dad is a lawyer. Out of all these characters, i kind of dislike Scout, mainly because i think she is a child and that she's immature most of the time and i find it really nice that Scout has a father Atticus who's always calm, caring and someone that is a GOOD father. A good lawyer. Because there is a lot of prejudiced people in Macomb, i find most of the characters very hwjefhwjfwhkhsk...

Setting:
The story takes place in a southern town of Maycomb in the 1930's. The setting feels really realistic and somehow neighbourly... What i mean is that everyone knows almost everyone in the county and people that lives near Scout's place feels like family. Apart from the Radley place which is kind of off limits for the children, they get to hang out almost everywhere. However, there seem to be a lot of racism in the county and i didn't really like that part. Again.

Plot and Writing:
The story is not only beautifully written but cleverly plotted. Everything Scout faces is something to learn. However, it's good overall, but i have to admit it was kind of boring at the start, i only got gripped when i was near the end where there was a trial for Tom Robinson. That was the best scene, i was so eager to know what the ending was like for him. Even though i find it boring at the start, i read through it quickly. The style and use of vocabulary was so smooth and reading the book just went by quickly. It was an easy read.

Conclusion:

I learned a lot from this book and this is the first time in ages i read something like this. The only reason i gave this book a 3/5 instead of 4 was because i found the start of the story to be a bit boring, i think the character building and background history of the county and how the systems work were too much. However i loved seeing the characters grow and their ideas and thoughts changing as the pages flip. One final word for Harper Lee, YOU ARE AMAZING.
